Fireworks Light Up Southern California Skies

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Skies lit up over Southern California Monday night, as fireworks shows exploded over Los Angeles and Orange counties in celebration of Independence Day.

AmericaFest drew about 30,000 people to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where the fireworks went on for almost half an hour.

Paul Magers, an anchor for CBS2/KCAL9, served as the emcee of the show, which required 20 pyrotechnicians, and more than two tons of fireworks.

JPL broadcast Juno’s historic entry into Jupiter’s orbit live on a huge screen inside the Rose Bowl Stadium.
